About Swedish Relaxation Massage
"One of the greatest contributions of the Swedes and Norwegians this side of their beautiful fjords is body massage, a delightful luxury everyone should enjoy. For utter release from worry and tension, for that easy moving muscle and for the refreshed, relaxed feeling that can add joy to living, I heartily recommend a body massage now and then by a trained masseur or masseuse." J. Dewitt Fox, M.D., F.A.C. |
Swedish Relaxation Massage:
- is the safest massage technique,
- was developed by Dr. Ling of Sweden and
- is about scientific and systematic manipulation of the soft tissues of the body.

“Since the massage therapist is becoming a more significant part of Western health care system, she/he must be able to communicate with other health care professionals intelligently and accurately about disease and their response to massage therapy."
"Massage therapists must be able to recognize the major characteristics of disease from which their clients may suffer so as to be able to avoid appropriate massage strokes, give accurate information to these clients, and refer them to appropriate physicians when it is indicated.”
